Examination Requirements Survival

Survival 1
With extended clothing set (Swimwear, long jeans, long-sleeved shirt and shoes):
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward, then making 1 roll forward and 1 roll backward in succession, swimming through to 25 metres, completing the test by climbing out of the water onto the basin edge independently (without using a ladder and without the aid of others).
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward, taking off shoes and trousers while treading water, dropping shoes, then floating for 1 minute using the trousers, then treading water for 1 minute using arms, finishing the test by climbing independently out of the water onto the basin edge.
With swimwear and long-sleeved shirt:
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward, swimming 10 metres breastward towards a boat, climbing into the boat and then leaving the boat with a roll backwards, followed by at least 15 metres breastward swimming, interrupted by once going under-over-under a raft (lengthwise) and once with a pike surface dive through a hole in a tarp hanging vertically in the water.
- From the pool edge, lowering into the water, swimming underwater through a hole in a vertical hanging tarp at 6 metres from the edge, then 50 metres breaststroke, the last 25 metres together with one or two friend(s) pushing a raft.
- In the water, push off from the wall, swim 100 metres backwards, during the first 25 metres transport a board or other tool dry (above water), during the last 25 metres with a pike surface dive, dive up a shoe and bring it to shore.
- Lowering from the shore into the water with blinded swimming goggles, submerge and swim underwater 5 strokes on the chest.
- Performing a dry rescue by making contact from the shore with a friend lying in the water (max 2 metres from the shore), throwing an aid (jeans) and pulling this friend to the shore.

Survival 2
With extended clothing set (Swimwear, long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, (rain)coat and shoes):
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward (going completely under water), then making 2 rolls forward and 2 rolls backward in succession, swimming through to 25 metres, completing the test by climbing out of the water onto the basin edge independently.
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward (going completely under water), treading water to remove shoes and jacket, dropping shoes, then floating for 1 minute using the (rain)coat, then 30 seconds of treading water using legs, arms crossed and 30 seconds of treading water using arms; complete the test by climbing out of the water onto the basin edge independently.
With swimwear, long trousers and long-sleeved shirt:
- Lowering into the water from the pool edge, swimming at least 5 metres underwater towards an overturned boat, surfacing under the boat, staying under the boat for 15 seconds and then exiting the boat swimming backwards underwater, surfacing at least 1 metre away from the boat.
- In the water, pushing off from the wall, then tigering under a raft on your back (feel the mat with your hands whilst moving on your back), then swimming breastward to 25 metres, interrupted by one pike surface dive towards the pool floor (at least 2 metres deep) and passing through a horizontal hoop on the floor.
- From the pool edge, lowering into the water, swimming underwater through a hole in a vertical hanging tarp located 9 metres from the shore, then swimming 50 metres breaststroke, then over a distance of 12.5 metres pushing a friend on a raft.
- In the water, pushing off from the wall, swimming 50 metres backwards, interrupted by sinking to the basin floor once (at least 2 metres deep), touch the floor with your feet, then grabbing a rope and come up backwards via the rope (7 metres length).
- Lowering from the pool edge into the water with blinded goggles, going underwater and swimming underwater 5 big strokes on the back.
- Performing a dry rescue by making contact from the shore with a friend lying in the water (at least 6 metres from the shore) throwing a rescue device (rescue bag, rescue bobbin) and bringing this friend to shore.

Survival 3
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a roll forward, then in succession making 1 roll forward, 1 roll backward, 1 roll forward and 1 roll backward, swimming through to 25 metres, completing the test by climbing out of the water onto the basin edge independently.
- Entering the water from the pool edge or starting block with a leap forward, treading water to remove shoes, (rain)coat and sweater, dropping shoes and sweater, then floating for 1 minute using (rain)coat, followed by 30 seconds of treading water with moving forward and backward using arms, ditto using only legs; complete the test by climbing out of the water onto the basin edge independently.
With swimwear, long trousers and long-sleeved shirt:
- Lowering into the water from the pool edge, swimming underwater on the back under a floating tarp (at least 4 metres from the shore), surfacing through the hole in the tarp, completing the test by submerging again and swimming underwater on the back under and away from the tarp.
- From the pool edge, lowering into the water, swimming underwater through a hole in a vertical hanging tarp located 12 metres from the (starting) edge, then swimming 75 metres breaststroke, then over a distance of 25 metres alone or together with a friend, transporting another friend on a raft.
- In the water, pushing off from the wall, swimming 75 metres backwards, interrupted by sinking to the basin floor once (at least 2 metres deep), pick up a shoe from the floor and carrying it with you, then grabbing a rope (with one hand) and coming up via the rope (7 metres length).
- Lowering into the water from the pool edge with blinded goggles, swimming about 8 metres underwater, picking up at least 1 object from the basin floor and showing it above the water.
- Lowering into the water from the pool edge, swimming 15 metres breastward with head above water, making a pike surface dive and surfacing a dummy from a minimum depth of 2 metres, then moving the dummy in the head tow over a distance of 5 metres.
- Entering the water with a squat jump and swimming towards a friend with an aid (board, flexibeam), handing over the aid and transporting the friend to the shore over a distance of 10 metres.
